Am I correct in assuming you just replaced the motherboard without reinstalling the OS? If your OS isn't properly configured for the current hardware (modules for chipset, controllers, etc.) the system will be unreliable at best. The actual cause of your problems with SC could be right there on the OS level. Make sure your OS is configured to load the modules suitable for your hardware.
Re: saved playlists - The user running SC needs write access to the playlist folder.
