Hi.
I have just bought a Squeezboox duet.
But i have some problem with the software.
I have installed squeezcenter both 7.2 and 7.3_Beta on my laptop and on
my desktop pc (both debian linux).
The funny part is that everything works as a charm on my laptop, but on
my desktop pc it doesnt.
When i do localhost:9000 (or IP:9000) on my desktop pc i dont get in to
the squeezcenter.
When i do 'netstat -an |grep LISTEN|grep 9000' it doesnt show
anything.
And when i do 'ps ax' it gives me this:
Code:
--------------------
29324 ? S 0:00 /bin/bash /usr/sbin/squeezecenter_safe
/usr/sbin/squeezecenter-server --prefsdir /var/lib/squeezecenter/prefs --logdir
/var/log/squeezecenter/
29345 ? R 0:00 /usr/bin/perl -w /usr/sbin/squeezecenter-server
--prefsdir /var/lib/squeezecenter/prefs --logdir /var/log/squeezecenter/
--cachedir /var/lib/sq
29346 ? S 0:00 sleep 5
29347 pts/0 R+ 0:00 ps ax
--------------------
I dont have *apparmor* installed, so that cant be it causing it.
I have noticed when i try to add a music folder to it manually i get
this message:
'squeezecenter-server --audiodir /media/musikk'
Code:
--------------------
Useless use of a constant in void context at
/usr/share/perl5/Slim/Networking/Slimproto.pm line 115.
[08-08-30 17:00:24.5516] main::changeEffectiveUserAndGroup (818) Warning:
SqueezeCenter must not be run as root! Trying user slimserver instead.
[08-08-30 17:00:24.5525] main::changeEffectiveUserAndGroup (826) Warning:
User slimserver not found.
--------------------
It says that do not run it as "root", but how else can i run it, i dont
have access to squeezsenter as a regular user.
Does anyone know how i can fix this? It's so strange, i am using debian
version testing on my desktop pc, and on my laptop i am using unstable.
