You need to use the -r option on squeezeslave. With 7.1 and later, the squeezecenter script will exit and yast will say SC is running, but it isn't totally up and running yet.
The -r option tells it to retry when the connection with SC is lost. I use "-r 3" which says "retry every 3 seconds".
