The minimum install of mplayer on a command line only gentoo server with no x11 installed is listed above, 22 packages! I guess mplayer needs all that 'stuff' to run on a *non* X11 system as well. Ouch. I hate to link with X11 libraries on a command line only server.
Just to verify I did emerge mplayer on my server, it did compile all 22 packages, and it did run just fine on the command line (of course adding those 3 things to custom-convert.conf in my squeezecenter directory so I can stream wma radio stations to softsqueeze). If anyone else is wondering the same thing I was for a non X11 linux server, I guess that's the 'smallest' mplayer you can compile (or emerge of you're on gentoo). -- webfoot_tech ------------------------------------------------------------------------ webfoot_tech's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13273 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48645 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
