I'm not sure who created and tested this ipkg but I haven't tested it.

However looking at the source - on installation the ipkg install has a
routine to create the necessary slimserver user and groups. This make
me believe that the install may not be complete but it is not clear
whether

The log shows a couple error message which I think are not serious
during initial startup.

The "user not found" message should result in SC stopping but it looks
like this has not happened so you should stop .

My suggestion would be uninstall the package.
Delete the slimserver user and group and check /etc/passwd to make sure
they are gone.
Delete the "home" directory associated with the user.

Re-install SC ipkg. As part of installation you should get a prompt for
a Slimserver home directory - that is also when slimserver user is
created.

If you do not get the prompt then there is a problem in the ipkg.

After install check /etc/passwd.

For reference - the file /opt/etc/squeezecenter.conf has "default"
setings for SC.
