I have to thank you for making this available to the community. I've
been planning on trying to get a few of our local FM stations that
don't stream in Slimserver so I can listen to them in all the rooms
with SliMP3s and SB2s using a PVR-150 MCE card that I've had lying
around. I started to do a little research and stumbled on this thread
via google. I don't know why I didn't look here first.
After a little more research and a lot of head scratching as to why
arecord would only record silence no matter what I tried I finally came
up with a work around. It is working great and might even be a little
simpler to set up since you don't need to know your tuner's hardware
address.
Here is a summary of what ended up working for me on Centos 5.2 (RHEL 5
Variant):
Installed ivtv and ivtv-kmdl
Edited /etc/modprobe.conf and added the line:
Code:
--------------------
options ivtv tuner=43"
--------------------
(The above code is not needed for newer versions of ivtv, but only an
older version of ivtv is available for RHEL5 and this is used to set
the proper FM tuner for the PVR-150)
Installed Linux::DVB
Code:
--------------------
perl -MCPAN -e "install Linux::DVB"
--------------------
Edited /fmserver.pl and changed to the following
Code:
--------------------
my $fmdev="/dev/radio0";
my $receiver = "cat /dev/video24 | lame -r -s 48.0 --little-endian --resample
44.1 --quiet -q 3 - - ";
--------------------
I look forward to any updates or improvements that you make to this,
but really it is doing everything I wanted and was easier than I could
have hoped.
Thank again.
