/opt/e17/bin that is the path to a test installation of enlightenment 0.17 which is a window manager for my X11 envirnoment.
It is not my primary X11 shell which is e16 (enlightenment 0.16) It should not be conflicting with anything. Regarding starting an then failing that is exactly what happens. Like I said running apt-get install --reinstall squeezecenter as root,reinstalls squeezecenter and. as I now know from you, starts squeezecenter via invoke-rc.d. This squeezecenter always works. stopping squeezecenter and restarting it results in a squeezecenter that crashes and restarts every 5 seconds according to server.log. Reboot the box has no effect the result is the same a restarting squeezecenter. reinstalling just works. This is what has me baffled.
