Mudlark,

I don't believe my issue is mysql related. I had the problem with the
builtin instance that starts when squeezecenter is installed. I have
managed to ge it running with my own mysql instance.

What happens to squuezecenter on my box ith the following

apt-get install --reinstall squeezecenter

this installs squeezecenter and gives me a fully functional
squeezecenter. That means everting works as it should

/etc/init.d/squeezecenter stop

stops squeezecenter as it should. Squeezebos display says it has lost
contact!

/etc/init.d/squeezecenter start

this starts squeezecenter wich then goes into the died and restarting
cycle as previously described. rebooting the box does not help that
same symptoms apply.

Typing:

apt-get install --reinstall squeezecenter

helps. The squeezecenter start and in fully functional. I am looking
into and trying to figure out why a reinstall of a package manages to
start and application whereas the stop start or reboot breaks the app.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Regards
