Would you mind elaborating on your experience a bit? Are you using the desktop or the server edition of Ubuntu?
Did you have to do anything special to succeed with the CF card? I had tried this setup with an 8 gig CF card and I gave up out of frustration at how slow the CF card was. I ended up putting the OS on a 2.5" sata laptop drive that I secured in the optical drive bay. Was I just being too impatient with the CF card? Or did I just happen to get a particularly slow one? Also, where will your WindPC live? In a closet or out in the open as part of the decor?
