You mean for brutefir? I have not heard that anybody tried it, maybe

You can use the EQ, it has "any" number of bands. You can define the
bands within the filter file, but I think it uses standard octave and
fractions of it as band width.

You should checkout the duffroomcorrection wiki. I use a mic
recommended there, not sure but think something like ECM8000. Maybe you
should download the new DRC version and see for what microphones are
correction files available.
I use a standard soundcard with phantom power for the mic, it was
around 200 Euro. So you should get equipment for around 300$ maybe
less. You will need a stand for the microphone, I bought a very cheap
stand that is perfectly fine.
