I'm having a problem with mplayer processes being left running on my debian lenny system. This occurs when I use softsqueeze or squeezeplay to listen to internet radio stations that are wma streams. Since wma streams are not natively decoded by softsqueeze or squeezeplay, the alienbbc plugin, mplayer, and flac are being used by squeezecenter to transcode the wma stream to flac.
While listening to a wma stream, I noticed there were three mplayer processes running with the following process parent child relationships represented by the arrows pointing to the parent processes (process number in parenthesis): mplayer.sh(25807) <-- mplayer(25810) <-- mplayer(25811) After stopping the stream, the third process mplayer(25811) was still present. I tried the same experiment with squeezeplay and the same thing occurred. If I start and stop several wma streams, I'm left with several left over mplayer processes. It seems like all the mplayer processes should be stopped when the stream requiring them is no longer being played. aptitude lists my mplayer version as follows: 1:1.0.rc2sun20080706-0.1 -- eschurig ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eschurig's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2175 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62099 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
