This is a problem with mplayer. It doesn't happen on all Linux systems so it is not clear what is the common factor perhaps timing.
Attached is a version of mplayer.sh which tracks which mplayer processes are created when playing a stream and then tries to kill them when stream is halted. This mplayer.sh should work with bash but may not work with other shells (e.g. ksh, csh, tcsh) so please report back on success/failure and the Linux distro. The mplayer.sh also has a fix for playing WMA files which have spaces in the filename. To install: 1. Stop any files/stream which use the mplayer.sh script (e.g. AlienBBC, WMA through Softsqueeze). 2. Save current Alien/Bin/mplayer.sh in case you need to revert. 3. Note ownership and permission of Alien/Bin/mplayer.sh 4. Download attached mplayer.sh.txt and rename to mplayer.sh 5. Replace Alien/Bin/mplayer.sh with downloaded mplayer.sh 6. Change ownership & permissions of new mplayer.sh to match previous mplayer.sh 7. Test - there is no need to restart SC. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: mplayer.sh.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7215| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62099 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
