If it's of any value, I am a total amateur with setting up machines and had never used linux at all until last week.
I managed to install, network, configure SC in about a day. I chose Mint, because its user forum was friendly to non-programmer types like me, and the colour is pleasant. I found the process relatively straightforward, and Now running SC 7.3.3 headless on a $300 eeebox. Very pleased with the results. Very responsive over webUI, plugins work as they should, and everything just seemed to work. (7.3.3 fixed an issue with not playing .wma files). So for the point of view of ease of usage for amateurs, Mint (a Debian derivative) gets my tick. -- Dingostrategy The traveling life: incompatible with high-end audio.
