Actually thats an excellent idea - you can certainly whack samba and squeezeserver on in no time at all if thats all you want/need. I'll have a think about how to structure it around the rest of the pages. Maybe a crash course linked to off the front page, with links to other bits if you need more details. I'd deliberatly avoided xwindows and vnc in all its forms - on a headless server it seemed a bit pointless - but then I'm quite happy to hack around on the command line. I'll have a play in virtual box and see how easy it is to get gnome going over vnc and (assuming it is easy!) add that in too. The CentOS desktop is definately nothing to write home about though!
Other things I may play with are jinzora or zina, openDB, some sort of torrent client and proper email with postfix. I am also tempted to give Debian a whirl and see how different it is and if it's possible to maintain two variations of instructions - I have ubuntu on a couple of pc's, but I've not really experimented with the server edition, or normal debian. -- jimbof ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jimbof's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17907 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64321 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
