That's exactly what it will do.  When MusicIP scans your music folders
it will pull in the analysis from the song files and create a new
database that associates that info with their new paths, and you're
set.

The only weirdness I had with MusicIP on Ubuntu was that I never have
gotten it set up so that SqueezeCenter would wait to start until after
MusicIP had started.  With that said, I have to reboot the Ubuntu box so
incredibly rarely that in those very infrequent times I just start
MusicIP by hand and then restart SqueezeCenter.
