Doesn't 7.3.3 take care of the issues related to SC and scanning the
MIP database? It provides a configuration option where it relies on MIP
only for the mixable info of a track. This way, a full library scan
doesn't take an eternity. I've also found that when I add discs to my
library, I only have to go into the MiP web page and add the
music/refresh songs. After doing that, SC automatically picks up the
songs (including artwork) and concludes the "scan" in a few minuts.
