No, I don't think so. But I'll be installing the 7.6 beta on my windpc
server (with fedora 11) in a day or so and I'll report back to this
thread on how well it works.

7.6 is still pretty bleeding edge, though it's been well behaved for me
for the past week. If you download a 7.6 nightly, install it and it
works well for you, I'd check the beta forum before updating to a newer
nightly. It's entirely possible to catch a 7.6 nightly during a period
when things are seriously broken.

It depends on how you installed. I wouldn't worry about this. See
below for how to get the install files for the last version of
SqueezeCenter that you're running now.
I would, however, uninstall SqueezeCenter before trying to install
7.6.
If you installed SC using yum, open a terminal window and execute:
Code:
--------------------
# sudo yum remove squeezecenter
--------------------
Even if you didn't use yum to install, there should be no harm in
trying this.
Alternately, if you installed from the rpm, again, open a terminal
window and execute:
Code:
--------------------
# sudo rpm -e squeezecenter
--------------------
To install the 7.6 version, you might want to avoid the yum method for
the time being. The repos seem to be really messed up right now. I'd
do this:
Open a terminal.
Become root:
Code:
--------------------
# su
--------------------
Create a temp directory and go to it:
Code:
--------------------
# mkdir /setup
# cd /setup
--------------------
Find the url to the latest 7.6 nightly at
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.6
So..to download today's nightly, you would execute:
Code:
--------------------
# wget
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.6/sc/30839/squeezeboxserver-7.6.0-0.1.30839.noarch.rpm
--------------------
Once the rpm has been downloaded by wget, install it using rpm:
Code:
--------------------
# rpm -Uhv squeezeboxserver-7.6.0-0.1.30839.noarch.rpm
--------------------
If you find that Squeezebox Server 7.6 (5,4) isn't to your taste, you
can always uninstall it using the same methods above (substituting
"squeezeboxserver" for "squeezecenter") and reinstall SqueezeCenter
using the rpm downloaded from:
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/SqueezeCenter_v7.3.4/squeezecenter-7.3.4-0.1.28402.noarch.rpm
