SBS is not an officially supported application therefore before every
upgrade it is turned off and ignored. When this happens stuff gets
overwritten. When that happens SBS won't work.
Its much simpler to remove SBS application, (Don't purge the files!)
upgrade, reinstall SBS than to find all the OS files that got changed
during the upgrade.
Considering that you only upgraded, none of your saved prefs got wiped
out because the OS does not know what they are and won't touch them.
Not running purge means they are all still there.

It's just like magic when you reinstall SBS and all your prefs,
plugins, and settings come back all by themselves.
