Given the concerns I had about deleting the wrong files using "rm -rf*",
I decided to have a go dragging the Simple Backup files to the trash
(which worked) and then selected the empty trash option.  Unfortunately
this hasn't gone according to plan: I should have over 250gb as a result
of this, but it's showing only 31, so it seems the emptied files are
lingering somewhere.

Any ideas on the best fix?  Have those files gone into some (hopefully
eradicable!) limbo?
