I've tried those commands and here's what I get back. With "ps aux|grep squeeze": > 116 1077 0.0 0.0 2932 1348 ? S 23:18 0:00 > /bin/bash /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver_safe /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver > --prefsdir /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs --logdir > /var/log/squeezeboxserver/ --cachedir /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache > --charset=utf8 > yadayada 1826 0.0 0.0 3332 896 pts/0 S+ 23:22 0:00 grep > --color=auto squeeze For "netstat -lnp|grep 9000", I got the following: > (Not all processes could be identified, non-owned process info > will not be shown, you would have to be root to see it all.) On getting that response I entered the same command, with "sudo" ahead of it (thinking it might have been a permissions issue), but was simply returned to the prompt. I'm not sure what the implications are of each of these results, so any help in interpreting them and the best course of action would be gratefully received! I've also tried running an apt-get to update, but I still get a message "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:9000." -- Gus Gus ------------------------- 4 x SB3 Firmware: -127 running SC 7.4- OS: -Ubuntu 10.04- Motherboard: -Asus P5G41-M LX- Router: -WRT54G- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14417 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82338 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
