Hi guys,
I upgraded to 7.7 yesterday after sitting at 7.5 for a long time as 7.6
kept on bumming out on scanning.
I was hopeful but it looks like I'm hitting exactly the same problems
(I didn't post here before as I got the advise to simply downgrade).

So, my set up is a CentOS 5.7 server with a SB Classic and a Boom:

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.0 - r33614 @ Tue Oct 18 12:09:21 MDT
2011
Hostname: mediaserver
Server IP Address: x.x.x.x
Server HTTP Port Number: 9002
Operating system: Red Hat - EN - utf8
Platform Architecture: i686-linux
Perl Version: 5.8.8 - i386-linux-thread-multi
Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
Total Players Recognized: 2

The scanner.log file isn't very verbose (I believe there is a way to
increase this which I will look in to):
[root@mediaserver ~]# tail -f /var/log/squeezeboxserver/scanner.log
[11-11-02 17:17:09.5274] main::main (200) Starting Logitech Media
Server scanner (v7.7.0, r33614, Tue Oct 18 12:09:21 MDT 2011) perl
5.008008
[11-11-02 17:17:10.7007] Slim::Music::Import::runImporter (478)
Starting Slim::Media::MediaFolderScan scan
[11-11-02 17:17:10.7014] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::rescan (171)
Discovering audio files in /media/Music
[11-11-02 17:17:16.6869] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::__ANON__ (254)
Removing deleted audio files (0)
[11-11-02 17:17:16.6874] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::__ANON__ (332)
Scanning new audio files (12272)

The last entry in server.log (it was rotated on restart):
[11-11-03 10:52:20.8126] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::rescan (171)
Discovering audio files in /media/Music
[11-11-03 10:52:32.0675] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::__ANON__ (254)
Removing deleted audio files (0)
[11-11-03 10:52:32.0679] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::__ANON__ (332)
Scanning new audio files (11270)
[11-11-03 10:52:32.0691] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::__ANON__ (410)
Rescanning changed audio files (0)

So, I guess there is either a file or folder causing the scanner to bum
out and stop the squeezeboxserver daemon. My question is can I find this
or is it back to 7.5?

Cheers!
