Ok, you may have a "normal" scanning problem it breaks on a certain
files .

That is if it always crashes on this file.

I would probably create a bug for it and upload the file to logitech .

http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Large_File_Upload

There are other bugs where it crashes on random files .

Things to try use puddletag or mp3tag check the extended tag info and
see to it that you don't have multipple tag formats for the file ,
only id3v2 for example,. If it has an embedded image make sure that it
is ok, a jpeg pic of reasonable size

Othervise it's the /etc/sysconfig/squeezeboxserver you may edit.

I have a bug logged for a similar linux OS where everything is working
perfect except if activate the "media server" functions then it crashes
during scan, so for me it's working better than ever except if I use
video or pictures and dlna

Code:
--------------------

  [root@hal ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/squeezeboxserver
  # Edit this to suit your setup
  SQUEEZEBOX_USER="squeezeboxserver"
  SQUEEZEBOX_HOME="/usr/libexec"
  SQUEEZEBOX_CFG_DIR="/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs"
  SQUEEZEBOX_LOG_DIR="/var/log/squeezeboxserver"
  SQUEEZEBOX_CACHE_DIR="/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache"
  SQUEEZEBOX_CHARSET="utf8"
  SQUEEZEBOX_ARGS="--daemon --noimage --novideo --nosb1slimp3sync
--prefsdir=$SQUEEZEBOX_CFG_DIR --logdir=$SQUEEZEBOX_LOG_DIR
--cachedir=$SQUEEZEBOX_CACHE_DIR --charset=$SQUEEZEBOX_CHARSET"

  [root@hal ~]#
