I've been playing for the 1st time with custom-convert, to cope with transcoding 24/96 on a small CPU for my SB3s. After finally reaching my goal, it suddenly hit me that SqueezeLite doesn't work the same way : my DAC is limited to 16/48, but when I play HD material on squeezelite, sox isn't running and transcoding. Perhaps this can explain some of the static coming out of my ampÂ…
I really don't understand how all this works, but would it make sense for Squeezelite to report to SBS the audio capabilities of the DAC ? So that the convert file would do its part when needed.
