Just set up SqueezePlug on a Raspberry Pi, then installed squeezelite; set output to HDMI, connected to my Onkyo TX-NR5009 receiver. Instant success, great stuff! Only problem: higher sample rates. Tried to play some HD material (96kHz FLAC, from Linn Records). Whatever I do, the Onkyo says the sample rate is 48kHz. With debugging, I see, for example:
[16:45:15.048010] output_init:1265 init output [16:45:15.051099] output_init:1298 requested buffer_time: 20000 period_count: 4 format: any mmap: 1 [16:45:15.052481] output_init:1322 output: sysdefault:CARD=ALSA maxrate: 96000 [16:45:15.158176] output_thread:562 open output device: sysdefault:CARD=ALSA [16:45:15.166506] alsa_open:257 opened device sysdefault:CARD=ALSA using format: S32_LE sample rate: 44100 mmap: 1 [16:45:15.167984] alsa_open:305 buffer time: 23219 period count: 4 buffer size: 1024 period size: 256 [16:45:28.621277] output_flush:1347 flush output buffer [16:45:28.683005] output_flush:1347 flush output buffer [16:45:29.009757] output_thread:748 track start sample rate: 96000 replay_gain: 0 [16:45:29.011547] output_thread:562 open output device: sysdefault:CARD=ALSA [16:45:29.047907] alsa_open:257 opened device sysdefault:CARD=ALSA using format: S32_LE sample rate: 96000 mmap: 1 [16:45:29.049624] alsa_open:305 buffer time: 21312 period count: 4 buffer size: 2046 period size: 511 so, it looks like it's not transcoding, but it ends up as 48kHz on the Onkyo, anyway. I'd be grateful for any ideas.
