Just wanted to mention that I received my Wandboard Dual and set it up last night and set it up rather easily, so props on that to JackOfAll and Triode, (and any other contributors of whom I may not be aware).
I used a Musical Fidelity USB to SPDIF, namely the V-link 192 which is a USB Audio Class 2 device. I ended up setting Alsa parameters for 80ms buffer and 32 bit format (80::32:). I heard some clicks at 40ms, but I need to go back and check if that was due to another user error. Name: Musical Fidelity V-192 S/PDIF Output Interface URL: http://www.musicalfidelity.com/products/vSeries/v-link192/ Driver: snd-usb-audio Max Rate: 192k Class: UAC2 Used by: dsdreamer I have tested FLAC playback at 192kS/s, 96kS/s and 44.1kS/s extensively at audio was perfect (at 80ms buffer length). I didn't find an elegant way to mount the WLAN antenna in the plastic box and hence used Ethernet for all my testing. I had a 1080p HDMI monitor hooked up at all times, and used a Logitech wireless keyboard with Unifying receiver as my "remote control". The only thing that slowed me down in getting this running was finding ALSA parameters that would work with my preferred USB interface. I am thinking we need a strategy to make this easier for new users. Should we develop an "alsa-wisdom.txt" text file that collates the settings that people have found to work with different DACs? If we did, it could be used as the default if the user doesn't know better. Since, I am up-and-running, I am now available to do things (running tests, writing documentation etc). Let me know how I can help. --dsdreamer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dsdreamer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12588 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98544 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
