On every Linux system you always use the command line in a terminal and
use the "chmod -R" 777. R for recursively doing it then starting at the
top directory of the music it would have done all files . You can
ofcourse use a more restrictive aproach than 777 which enables all
rigths including write and execute , just an example I do that to able
fix tags from whatever Computer or app.

I do have complete backups .

Vortexbox is a good solution for a headless , no fuss server .
