Triode, will probably comment. I've got the CM6631A on my list of
chipsets to avoid with Linux USB. But unlike others (eg. Tenor) where I
made notes, nothing else. So that could mean it didn't work at all, or
had minor issues. Do you know if anyone is using the EDO applet with the
Touch and a USB DAC with this chipset?

Jitter aside, you may (or may not) have read the discussion on the R3
thread, where we actually posted the % frequency inaccuracies due to
using the USB clock for clocking the data out of the TOSLINK optical. At
present, it is probably worse (on paper) than from the Touch. I had a
quick look at the code and figured it was going to be reasonably simple
to set the parent clock for the spdif to be the programmable pll4 audio
clock, but no further. Triode (Adrian) may actually be working on this.
I don't know. But as it stands at the moment, using the TOSLINK out of
the default WB carrier board is probably of lower quality then the
Touch. And then, there is the issue of the incorrect wiring to the
TOSLINK port (reversed connections for signal and power) on the board,
that means without DIY modification, it is a bit hit and miss whether
any specific DAC will work as it is.

Can you do a little research yourself? Are people successfully using USB
DAC's with the CM6631A under Linux? Or wait for Triode to jump in and
hopefully give you a better answer than I can.
