Don't worry, this isn't about picking fights. I just want to understand
where this issue is coming from, just like you do. 
This so called client I'd is probably a host name but I have never seen
that being used when using network monitors. What I'm trying to say is
that the issue is probably not caused by this 'client id'. In the
packets on the network you'll see the Mac addresses. This is the basic
of top/ip. Host name are human name given to devices becaus they are
easier to work with (and remember). 

Anyway, if this issue happens again, we should look at what the arp
cache of the computer has. There we need to confirm if the IP address is
acosiated with the correct MAC address.
