I'm just going to come out and say this.... I understand the problem, I understand why it is happening, but this "fix" is not a "fix". It is completely braindead! Killing dhclient and relying on undocumented NetworkManager behaviour, that in any case has the undesired behaviour that it will down/up the connection, resulting in the network interface not being available until it is back up again..... You want to use dhcp, (rather than configure a static IP on the WB), and stop the IP Address changing regardless of the make or model of router you are using..... After the first time it connects to your router you have the MAC address. Now allocate a static IP to that MAC in the dhcp config of your router. End of problem! This needs more thought..... There has to be a more elegant solution than either of the above. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JackOfAll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3069 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98544 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
