Hi,

if anyone is following this to replicate then this is what I did to get
the USB stick writeable.
1. formatted it as ext4 on PC (with Minitool Partition Wizard)
2. from Putty typed 'dmesg' to find USB name (mine was /dev/sda5)
3. sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sda5 /mnt/USBStick
4. df (to check mount)
5. sudo chmod 777 /mnt/USBStick
6. Then you can copy onto the stick with WinSCP or Filezilla (or another
preferred tool)
