I was able to pin my nightly crashes down to my wifi dongle which was based on a RT2800 chipset.
I found a chipset based on RT8192cu (The Edimax EW-7811Un has the same chipset) and added the following file to shut off power management and do 5 minute pings on my router via crontab as per this website. http://svay.com/blog/setting-up-a-wifi-connection-on-the-raspberrypi/ Squeezelite has been up on two players for over 24 hours and that has never happened before. It was the wifi dongle. Amazing project and I strongly recommend the HiFiMeDIY Sabre USB DAC in conjunction with Raspberry Pi and Squeezeplug.
