When I made the original plans the Quad module with SATA did not exist, now that it does I have been convinced to add the SATA connector and a drive power connector. Its going to be a female 4pin "Molex" type (although Molex doesn't actually make one!) There are many male molex to SATA power connectors so it needs a female on the board.
If you want to run a drive that takes 12V you are on your own, the carrier board takes 5V in, I'm NOT putting a 5v to 12V switching converter in this box, its not going to happen. So if you want to use a drive which takes 12V you will need to come up with your own supply. There are going to be 4 USB ports on the back and 3 inside so you can easily use a USB HD inside the box if you want. I'm not providing official USB current limiting, so if you want to use a current hungry USB drive you can, as long as you use a 5V supply that can handle the current.
