Hi - don't know, if it's that ...  I had similar problem with my wi-pi
dongle after adding proper bin to firmware-folder. But after doing: sudo
ifconfig wlan0 up (it wasn't active) I was able to set it up via the
picoreplayer-menu and it worked afterwards. 

Havn't tested 1.05 yet though.
