Hi everyone.

Sorry for chiming in again, but I'm so close to getting a perfect sound
and just don't want to give up now... ;)

OK, so here it comes:

To get Squeezelite to play well on my Squeezeplug installation I had to
use -a 160:4 to get artifact free output to my HDMI/Analogue Converter.
This works perfectly.
Now I've set up an installation of PiCorePlayer (both now running
Squeezelite 1.3) and that also works perfectly, same settings.
Now, as soon as I sync the two players, I get the same little clicking
and popping noises I used to get on Squeezeplug before I set the -a
option from 80:4 to 160:4 and that's driving me nuts.
The sounds are subtle, but I listen to classical music and it's just
plain annoying... ;(
I've got the two Pi's connected to wired network (One Powerline, one
LAN) and positioned on opposite sides of the room. The sound is amazing,
I'm using Harman Kardon Soundsticks II and III as speakers, about the
best you can get on a small budget...but these little clicks are ruining
the experience.
I really hope there is a fix for this, then I'd be extremely happy!

Thanks.
