There seems to be a limitation to using Squeezelite over a secure
connection due UDP. I've tried it with SSH -D tunnels and Sshuttle to no
avail. I realise this can be remedied using the socat solution.

But I've found that using Android SqueezePlayer with say ConnectBot port
forwards works fine without needing(I'm guessing) the initial UDP
discovery protocol packet exchange. Everything is handled by TCP port
9000 and 3483 it appears so all is fine and it works a treat though
perhaps its not ideal.

Am I correct to assume Squeezelite requires the initial UDP discovery
before everything is acknowledged and can proceed?

If so, what are the chances of an option to disable the UDP discovery.
I've sniffed it all out and there are only 2 UDP packets exchanged on
port 3483 right at the start and thats it.

I'd be happy to trial any fix. I'm not a software engineer my apologies.
If its too big a deal no worries, its superb as it is already.

Yours,
Robin Smith.
