This is what I've been using it for too. I put mine in old '80s boomboxes mostly. I also built a patio stereo inside a waterproof sprinkler box. So far, these devices are working really well. I am having a bit of trouble with the boombox in my kitchen. It is always plugged in, so the Pi is always running because it has a separate power supply from the stereo and they don't get switched off together. After a couple days of continuous up time, and following an overnight of inactivity, when I try to send music to that Pi, it won't play and I have to unplug it to sort it out. I have no idea what the issue is but I'm waiting with my fingers crossed that the next release will be a bit more stable in that regard. The only other thing I'd like to see is support for Airplay. LMS is a terrific system but I also use Airfoil which opens up essentially limitless options for audio sources from my desktop that can be streamed to an Airplay device. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ hoffsta's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=60824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
