You should have to do anything extra to get AAC to work after clean
install. In fact it is possible your changes to the conf file have
broken AAC support. I'd advise stop LMS, replace conf files with
original conf files and restart LMS.

The version of faad the comes with LMS is what you need and the patch is
still for V2.7 so same version of Faad base as the one you compiled.
Banner from LMS version of faad.

Code:
--------------------

  *********** Ahead Software MPEG-4 AAC Decoder V2.7 ******************

  Patched for Squeezebox Server:
  * ALAC decoder integrated
  * Seeking support with -j and -e switches
  * STDIN support
  * Source at http://svn.slimdevices.com/repos/slim/7.5/trunk/vendor/faad2

--------------------

Does the LMS supplied version of faad (in a subdirectory of LMS
server/Bin direcotry) run on your system ?

If not - are you running a 64 bit system ? if so then install ia32-libs
package as LMS supplied executables are 32 bit and need compatibility.

Have you installed your own version of flac as well ? If so remove it.
