After placing the DFF files back and removing the DSF ones, and
rescanning with a "clear-library and rescan everything" (just to be
safe), I verified that the whole album plays through without stopping
and without error messages. Excellent!
It was a certainly worth having me go back and check, rather than just
assuming (as I did) that both problems "must" have been fixed.
