Yes, I think this is most likely the problem, although I've not seen any
reports elsewhere.

IIRC there are some settings available within the Amanero firmware
updater which may have an effect on this.  When I have the chance /
patience I'll try making some changes and reflash.....

The available 9018 documentation is very scant regarding how it deals
with this switching, but I too imagine it does a certain amount of
buffering, but I would have thought it to be too little to really be
noticable?
