I beleive the original poster is asking for on-the-fly PCM->(DSD in a PCM container, e.g., DoP) conversion for rendering by a DSD-capable DAC. This could be summarized as PCM->DSD->DoP. Some people like the euphonic "smoothness" of DSD-rendered material, even when there is no souce-content information above 20kHz.
