JackOfAll / Triode - thank you SO much for the detail replies. That is exactly the type of insight I was hoping to find here. :)
However, I'm a bit of a Linux lightweight, so will have to do a bit of research/learning before I can respond (in an informed manner) to some of your thoughts and suggestions. Will not pull down this thread with stupid questions, but instead will reply soon (after said research). But for now... I was under the impression that the only issue with the DragonFly DAC with regard to the "need" for a hub was in relation to its drawing more power than is allowed by the USB 2.X standard. And that hubs somehow (don't understand the mechanism) shield the device to which they are attached from realizing that such a draw was occuring (or maybe even that the hub prevents such a draw). So I'm unclear about why a hub would be required for an imx6 device (and yes JackOfAll, the Cubox-I is one), as long as the power draw was not set high enough to exceed that USB 2.X allowed amount. And I've tested this setting the output volumes (aka power draw, as set by aslamixer) at every possible level, and the result is the same click/pop/crackle. AND I think it's worth noting - as stated previously - that it works with none of those undesirable sonic artifacts under Volumio, assuming I'm oversampling. Whether or not that qualifies "working" with an imx6 device would be a matter of symantics I suppose. So again, thanks for the help. Will reply again soon, once I can do so from a BIT more of an informed position. And to go OT for just a moment... Triode, thank's a MILLION for making this WONDERFUL tool available to the masses. :D ------------------------------------------------------------------------ scolley's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62931 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
