Interestingly, the B+ does seem to have "resolved" the USB hotplug
crashes. And an external (but powered by USB bus) USB drive is now
possible. Used to have to use a hub for that before.

It was either "safe_mode_gpio=4" or "max_usb_current=1" that was needed
in config.txt to get the external drive to play nice. Raises the max
current allowed to be delivered by the USB ports, assuming you have a
"capable" power supply. (Probably asking for trouble, enabling that,
with a 1A supply. 2A minimum, I would think.)

On another note. not had a chance to look at HDMI yet, or even 3.15
kernel, but 3.12.26 is compiled now with and I2S out to one of my DIY
DAC's fine to both B and B+.

Code:
--------------------

  CONFIG_SND_BCM2708_SOC_HIFIBERRY_DAC=m
  CONFIG_SND_BCM2708_SOC_HIFIBERRY_DACPLUS=m
  CONFIG_SND_BCM2708_SOC_HIFIBERRY_DIGI=m
  CONFIG_SND_BCM2708_SOC_RPI_DAC=m
  CONFIG_SND_BCM2708_SOC_IQAUDIO_DAC=m

--------------------

Not sure whether I'll be able to start looking at 3.15 tonight. Hope
so....
