Thought I would report that SOA seems to work fine as a player on the Pogoplug V4 Mobile. This device has a 700 MHz Kirkwood processor and 128 MB RAM. I installed SOA over a clean base Arch linux installed per this blog:
http://blog.qnology.com/2014/07/hacking-pogoplug-v4-series-4-and-mobile.html Then I did the manual install per the first post. Took about 15 minutes to do the updates and build SOA. I have only basic needs, internet radio mostly; my music is 16 bit/44 kHz FLAC. I've tested with 2 basic 16 bit DACs and no problems. I did turn off MMAP as there were some crackles on initial use, and an ArchARM forum recommended this. On restart of squeezelite, the SOA box does not reconnect to the server. The server can see it, but it must be manually connected. I might have a second server running on a test box, so perhaps that is the reason. I have not seen this with my SB3 or VAMP. The server is 7.7.3. The beauty of this is that the Pogoplug Mobile is about $12 at the moment. Arch is on a SD card, and there is a single USB port for the DAC. Pretty inexpensive player that is unobtrusively small. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mikeh49's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=48620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101624 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
