Hello, I found the PI I2S pinout and am wondering if we can make our own I2S hdmi cable. Some popular high end DACs use it now...
On this document we can see what hdmi pins ps audio spec uses for I2S: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AgVhKcl_3lHfdFhNT0xWQnNVWTI1QjhTdXVGVThiYnc&pli=1 Here's what I found on the Pi I2S pinout: GPIO# ALT2 28 PCM_CLK 29 PCM_FS 30 PCM_DIN 31 PCM_DOUT described as clock, frame clock, data-in and data-out. more about accurate placement here: http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2012/09/raspberry-pi-p5-header/ First of all, is that dependent on the OS release? Does it work the same way on picoreplayer? Second, in the first document above there's a lot of acronyms but not the same as used in the Pi pinout description I found... can the experts guess which hdmi pin goes on which GPIO? Then I guess I need an hdmi cable tester to sort out what wire goes to what pin, a bit of soldering and voila! Or am I completely wrong?
