thx for the clarification, but I am quite sure that I already understood
that before ;)
My question was explicitly focussed on the "tweaks" you mentioned above.
As there are no sources and no build instructions (not to my knowledge
at least) I would have to reinvent all these tweaks on my own and the
result would by more like "my personal picore based squeezelite
distribution" than "a recompiled picoreplayer image".

Picoreplayer is (IMHO) not just a package that you can install on your
favorite linux distribution, but instead a full featured appliance like
operating system. And as the GPL requires that work that is derived from
GPL products has to be released in source code along with complete
building instructions (as long as you distribute your "product", which
obviously is the case with pcp) I thought that such a package would be
available somewhere. Sadly enough, it is simply not enough to say: grab
the sources you need somewhere from the web and compile them on your own
- after all its free software.
Don't get me wrong: I am not a friend of all this GPL related issues and
I don't want to discuss them here - I just thought that such a source
package with instructions is available somewhere (at least I would have
such a thing if I had created pcp).

But like I said earlier: thx to your work there's no need to compile
anything on my side. I will prolly need some extensions for creating a
UDP/lirc interface but after that I should be done. I also think that
all the update related issues I mentioned earlier are of no concern to
me - why updating when it is working without a hassle? :)

Thx a lot again for your help with lirc, you saved me a lot of work and
time.

Keep up the brilliant work guys!

best o/
