Since you're using a DAC make sure you go into LMS and set the volume of the player at max and it's best if you set it at Fixed 100%. Then use your amp to change the volume like you would any other component. As for bit rate, in LMS it shows the bitrate of the playing file I believe. If it has to transcode it it will show the transcoded bitrate instead.
