How about making the latest kernel available as an option from the
update page as if it is a custom kernel?  I was sticking to the standard
one at present to hopefully get the most stable version for the standard
install.

[I see your feedback on that page, but for the moment it is easiest for
me to add to what it there - will look at how we simplify later]
