Hi Mr. Floppy, I am happy using LMS for volume control. I still have in my pre-amp a pot for volume adjustment that I set to my maximum volume. This allows me to use the upper range of LMS volume settings. To be honest, for me, it is not really worthwhile exercise, but I know a lot of people that wouldn't be happy with digital volume control.
