Good idea.  Yes, I will start from scratch, and test over the next few
days.  I've used a few different PSUs, including an OEM iPad brick, and
a well as this PSU: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A9PO5AM/

Yes, the glitch is a slight blip/static, about 1/2 second in duration. 
Just like if the audio buffer ran out then refilled.  Not static from an
external source.  Just data from LMS being dropped/resumed.  Yes, it is
easily heard.  You don't even have to be paying attention, it is a
momentary dropout of the music at -0:10 before the upcoming track.
