Hi guys, Just a few questions/issues lately. I got a Sony UDA-1 USB DAC to fool around with, so I connected a pCP 1.19L running on a B, and another on a B+. The B model has the HiFi Berry Digi installed.
First thing I noticed, is that I'm still having the "last 10 second glitch" via USB/HDMI/built-in headphone port that is not always cured by adjusting the buffer settings. This continues to drive me nuts, and I have to be certain the rest of you out there will hear this too, if you listen to -10 seconds before the next song starts in an album. This has nothing to do with lossless (which works fine). Why am I so sure that this problem is widespread? Because it happens with both the B/B+, after fresh pCP images, and goes away completely with the HiFi Berry Digi. Something in the Digi must use a different buffer than the built-in outputs. Also, I have experienced this with at least 4 different USB DACs, so the problem must be isolated to the pCP. I have also experienced this with LMS 7.9 and 7.8, running on two completely separate Macs. Second, I can't seem to get the USB output to play hi-rez 24/48 or 24/96 (only formats I tested). Sound does play, but my DAC doesn't recognize it as 48/96kHz. Is there a setting in pCP or LMS that would downsample to 16/44? I realize you can force this output, but I'm using all the defaults. Thanks for any input!!
